Dave Haglund, a native of the Pacific Northwest who is in his 28th year in intercollegiate athletics, is in his fourth year as the first full-time commissioner in Cascade Collegiate Conference history.
His responsibilities as the league’s chief administrative officer include overseeing all aspects of Cascade Collegiate Conference operations, including championships, rules and regulations, scheduling, marketing and media relations, officiating, finances, and enforcement.
Haglund is a member of the NAIA's National Administrative Council Executive Committee, the NAIA's Conference Commissioners Association, and is the CCC representative to the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators. He served on the NAIA's Direct Qualification Transition and Implementation Committee in 2007-08 and currently serves on the CCA's Sponsorship Committee.
Haglund came to the CCC from the University of Maryland, where he spent 10 years as an associate athletics director. At Maryland, Haglund had a wide variety of responsibilities, including managing the athletic media relations unit from 1998-2003; supervising 12 sports and four support units; and coordinating all ACC and NCAA championship events hosted by the university. During his stint in College Park, the Terrapins captured 12 national titles – most in the Atlantic Coast Conference from 1998-2007 -- and participated in four bowl games.
Prior to his arrival at Maryland, Haglund was sports information director at Fresno State University.
Haglund is a graduate of Oregon State University. He and his wife, Cindy, have two children: Samantha (17) and Matthew (14).
