LA GRANDE, Ore. – With the loss of Concordia University and the addition of seven new teams to the sport, Cascade Collegiate Conference men’s soccer will have a very different look heading into the 2015 season.

Regular season favorite Corban, topped the conference preseason poll in a vote by the CCC head coaches earning nine first place votes and 179 points. The Warriors had a fourth place finish in last year’s standings with a conference record of 8-5-1 and 12-8-1 overall.

After finishing in second place last season, Northwest earned the second spot in the poll with two first place votes and 168 points. Northwest is coming off a 10-4-0 conference record, 15-5-0 overall, and returns seven key players from last season.

Two newcomers earned the third and fourth place spots in the poll in University of Great Falls and Rocky Mountain College respectively. Great Falls tallied one first-place vote with 167 points while Rocky Mountain totaled two first-place votes with 151 points.

After one of its best finishes in the CCC last year, The Evergreen State College comes in at fifth in the poll with 118 points followed by The College of Idaho (115) and Warner Pacific (114).

Carroll College is the third Montana school that was approved for associate membership along with UGF and RMC back in the spring. The Saints landed in eighth place in the poll with 109 points.  Following Carroll is Southern Oregon (90) who enters its first ever season competing in men’s soccer.

In tenth place is Northwest Christian (72) followed by Eastern Oregon (66), who also enters its first season sponsoring men’s soccer, and Oregon Tech (61).

Finishing out the poll are Walla Walla University (25) and Multnomah University (23) who both enter their first year as full-members of the CCC.

With almost twice as many teams as previous years, the CCC postseason tournament will change to an eight team single-elimination format that will include the top finishers in the regular season standings.
