CCC Women's Soccer Championships Field Announced

LA GRANDE, Ore. – With nearly every game today important to seeding, the field for the 2014 Cascade Collegiate Conference Women's Soccer Championship presented by U.S. Bank has been set and will begin on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2014.
The six-team field provides the top two teams in the regular season standings with first-round byes and a trip directly to the CCC Semifinals.
The top seed goes to Northwest University, who finished the regular season with an 8-0-1 record in conference and a record of 10-5-2. The Eagles, crowned regular season Champions earn one of two byes and will play the lowest remaining seed on Saturday, Nov. 8 on the NU campus in Kirkland, Wash.
The second seed and second first-round bye goes to Concordia University. The defending national champions who hold a record of 14-1-2 overall and 7-1-1 in CCC play, will play the next lowest remaining seed on Nov. 8 in Portland, Ore.
Corban earns the third seed after winning today against Eastern Oregon University and will host one of two first-round games on Nov. 5. The Warriors posted a record of 10-6-2 overall and 5-3-1 in CCC play.
The College of Idaho also will host a first-round game on Nov. 5 as the tournament's fourth seed. The Yotes won in dramatic fashion today with a goal in the second overtime period against Northwest Christian. C of I has a record of 7-5-4 overall and 4-2-3 in conference play.
The Knights of Warner Pacific take the fifth seed with a record of 4-4-1 in CCC play and 7-9-2 overall, having closed out the regular season with loss to Evergreen State. WPC won the head to head matchup against Southern Oregon this year earning the 5
th seed and will open up post season play at C of I.
The final seed goes to Southern Oregon, who earned a 5-1 victory at Oregon Tech on Saturday. The Raiders finished the regular season with a record of 5-10-1 overall and 4-4-1 in conference play. SOU will travel to third-seed Corban on Nov. 5 to open the tournament.
First-round games will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 5 with the two advancing teams traveling to Northwest and Concordia on Nov. 8. The two teams advancing from the semifinal round will meet on Saturday, Nov. 15 at the site of the highest remaining seed. The CCC tournament champion earns the conference's automatic spot in the 2014 NAIA National Championships. Match times and game coverage links will be posted on cascadeconference.org when finalized.
